Semiconductor Metrology with Nanometre Precision Powered by High Performance Computing
Emerging technologies like augmented reality, autonomous driving, and smart sensing depend on advanced photonics and nano-optics, requiring precise nanostructures fabricated with nanometre-level accuracy. Eindhoven-based SME TeraNova addresses the challenge of high-volume production with its patented, in-line, non-destructive quality inspection technology, which uses laser light scattering to measure nanostructure geometry. However, the computational demands of signal analysis for real-time inspection necessitate high-performance computing (HPC). To meet this need, TeraNova is collaborating with 81Watts to develop HPC infrastructure and integrate AI, enabling efficient, real-time quality inspection of photonic nanostructures and strengthening Europe's technological leadership.
